40 yr old virgin was pretty funny ... but it relied on language and crude humor to get laughs. not very hard to do really.
anchorman was much better imo.

Him talking to the dog for 5 minutes was possible the worst movie moment ever. IMO will ferrell when hes on, is fucking hilarious, but when hes off, hes way off, he sounds like a fucking idiot just screaming.
