Thers a few little tricks you cna do you might not know about, those pads on the ground that send you flying across levels, you can fire the grenade launcher onto it and it'll send the nade flying across. Also those teleportation chambers, now you can fire into them an the fire will come out the other side where it exits, never used to do that in any of the quake games.
I see what you mean abou the machinegun sound though, kinda annoying going by that video.
