I personally have not been in the services. My cousin however joined the navy and did some basic physical training with some seal's before even entering boot(for close to a year probably). Needless to say he was a healthy guy before that, and after, he was solid as a brick. Those guys will whip you into shape fast if you really want to join.
If this is the path you decided to go down, then good luck man, hope it works out for you.
