I really don't think that's accurate. I have a friend who got almost a full ride of out of state tuition to Wake Forest for good grades.
eek: I HIGHLY doubt it would be for grades alone. There *is* alot of financial aid available especially for out of state tuition people, but I've never heard of getting full rides for good grades. Hell, 90% of people at my school graduated highschool with over 4.0's, alot of them valedictorians at that, and, disregarding aid for out of state people to make tuition atleast reasonable, I've never known anything even remotely close to a full ride. Its not hard to do well in highschool is the point, anybody can get good grades, community service, leadership programs, special academic programs, sports, scholarship essay/etc contests, being a minority... those are the areas where the money is at. I'm no expert, but good grades alone wont get you anything other than an acceptance letter and standard/automatic scholarships of a few hundred bucks in my experience.
