Very true, aircooling these days normally means some kind of extreme retardedly sized slab of aluminium or copper inside the case. The stock coolers intel and amd provide aren't worth a fuck so a third party cooler is needed which just adds to the cost.

i'm using the stock cooler and it works fine.. my temps stay at around 25C at idle and 35-40C while gaming.. antec P180 airflow ftw
