Default regular 98 or XP - 12-18-2002, 02:46 PM

Alright, I was thinking about when I get my new tower what bout the OS. I've seen the fancyness of XP and noted some good qualities. But it seems that I'm always seeing post and topics "XP not working...." or "Need help with XP!"

I've had 98 since it came out at haven't had any probs related to directly to it.

most of my friends use XP and they always have problems. I use 98 and it always works. I am not one to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. I always ask "why should I get XP?" all I get in responce is "its better" then I ask for 4 examples of how its bettre and Im still waiting on an answer. Until I see a real reason to get XP Ill stick with 98.

98 sucks. It will eat your harddrive bit by bit and drag itself down. It offers pisspoor driver support and seeing as how it is going on five years old, MS will most likely not offer too much more support for it. XP is where MS is putting all their attention and it is much more powerful in relation to gaming. All new games and drivers are being designed with XP in mind and 98 as an afterthought. But keep driving that yugo if you must.

I prefer Windows XP because the interface is alot smoother. I've never had much problems with it.
