Default Panic attacks anyone ??? - 08-14-2004, 06:46 PM

I've had 4/5 already, the 1st one was the worse I tought I was going to die, just like an heart attack but you don't know until you get to see a doctor.
Last week I was up for 38 hours straight, couldn't sleep at all even just lying in bed was painfull to breath,I had to be up doing something,I couldn't rest or the chest pains would come back.plus the dizziness and numb feet/hands and face.
Just called my PCP and he got me Trazodone, until my next app. annoy:

Yep, i take them now and again as well . Pretty scary thing to happen to ya because at the time it seems like somethings seriously wrong> Its basically cause by you breathing too fast, pretty scary experience when it happens though. I take valium now and again to control it but i hate having to be on any kind of medication for something that seems so trivial. Im not the only one i know that suffers from anxiety, pretty common problem but it affects some more than others .

First time it happened i was in the hospital and you really do think you're either gonna die or your hearts fucked up because you can kinda hear it beating loudly in some cases. MY hands also clenched shut and because they were numb it didn;t seem like it was me doing it so that was anotehr fucked up thing that added to it.

I've had a few in my day. They are scary as shit and there is nothing you can do about it. One time i was in teh middle of eating and i started to feel chest pains. Then out of no where my head started messing with me and i left the cafeteria and laid in bed thinking i had a heart attack or something. It comes out of nowhere and its heard to get rid of it.

Shut it cunt! happy:

I had one when I was 19 - I was going through a bit of a "rough patch" - and I thought I was having a heart attack. cry: Anyway, the doc whacked me on some Beta Blockers and that was the first step to getting that shit sorted out. I haven't had one since.

I don't take anything because i feel that this is the way i just am and if i panic over something then i feel that its needed. If its worth worrying over that much i'm not going to change it. Just my philosophy.

As for short .... most people with anxiety are usually the most open minded/bright people. Reason? We get our selves all worked up because our minds think about things and all the logical connections to our problem. Your mind goes "FOotball, heh, football" ... while mine is like "I'm typing on a forum, forums were in ancient greece, oh the olympic games are in Greece right now."

I've had weird dissociative states of consciousness that induced the type of
panic or anxiety attacks you speak of: they seem to happen only when I've
neglected sleep for too long in combination with metabolism-boosting pills.

this isnt a panic attack, but pretty freaky for me. i'm a little clostrophobic, and in nc, we have a wet n' wild. i drove up there and went for a day. there's a slide several stories in the air. it's over 300 stairs to get up there. and they have 2 black enclosed slides that have water and twist around. all in all, the black slides last about 30 secoonds or more. i thought it wouldnt be so bad, so i went. it beats you up since it twists so much. at one point it curves and you are in about 1 inch of water that splashes all over you and then imerses you for 1 sec. at that point i was freaked out. i got out and wont go init again. if anyone here is clostrophobic, you understand.
