kicked in a tv -
05-20-2005, 05:39 AM
yeah, in the place i eat lunch, a kid brought in a tv and yesterday it was getting thrown out cause were getting a new one. anyway, exactly like in office space everyone hated the tv we had cause it was last owned by fred flintstone (old tv) so we decided to ruff it up before letting the school toss it.
now, some tightass art teacgher walked by and got me in the office, i didn't see the principal because he was out. but today, i fugure ill see him. now i looked up in the big school district policy book, there isn't anything that says the school owns anythign that comes on it's property, and since a kid brought it in and hated it too none of my friends present seemed mad about trashing it.
so, turns out all i can be pinned with is vandalism or misconduct, can anyone else tell me what my possible consequences are?

Get the guy who brought the TV in to vouch for you. Since it wasn't wanton destruction of private property, the most they'll probably pin you with is making a mess.
Although, TV tubes can explode sometimes, so maybe the principal will be a bit more concerned about the safety risk you and your friends posed.
Mental note: Don't kick in any more TVs on school property. hake:

Schools try to get you in a lot of shit...but i don't seem the point to what you didf...as destroying a TV outside isn't legal due to the pieces that make a TV...unless you like made sure you cleaned up every piece.

Last time I checked, most TVs have a poisonous stuff on the inside of the glass. So they are gonna say, "you endangered other students". oOo:

"Computer monitors and televisions contain picture tubes called cathode ray tubes (CRTs). Each CRT contains approximately
5 to 7 pounds of lead. Because they contain large amounts of lead and other hazardous materials, CRTs are considered
hazardous waste and may not be landfilled."
