Nu Head-Phones? -
08-01-2005, 09:52 AM
So I've been pretty content with my cheapie headphones I found in the basement that came with my long-ago-used Aiwa CD-player, little behind the head cheapies that muddy everything up, for the past couple of months, but lately I've been going through a music binge and getting a new CD a week..and I dont think I can stand the ones I have anymore, compared to what I used to have (over the ear Sony's) that snapped in half.
I'm not looking for anything other than those "in-the-ear" headphones. Regular earbuds always fall out if I do anything besides sitting, and when I have my headphones on I'm usually never sitting and doing nothing. One question before I go on... do they harm you're ears by any chance? I've heard my doctor told me to never stick things in my ears before, and I'm feeling a little risque with these, as I think my ears are pretty messed up, as I have ringing noise in my head daily. And you you look funny with them on? Im not buying headphones just to look cool, but I dont want to be looking like a dweebish mini-Frankenstein with giant plugs sticking out of my ears.
Oh yeah, and nothing too expensive, under $25 is all Im willing to spend, Im not that nit-picky about high-bitrate sound and all that crazy stuff, but I atleast want something where I can hear every detail sharply and cleary, unlike my Aiwa's, which after loading one of my CD's in my moms Jeep (6 speaker SURROUNDETH SOUNDETH!!!!!), I noticed a strumming of guitar that was never there before in my other headphones.
and Dont puke on me and show me Colemans topic, I've checked every cheap pair of headphones mentioned in that topic, and I've heard bad things about most of them, like the wires disenegrating, something thats happen to two pairs of my headphones.
Thank you.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you'll find anything that is good under $25. It's just not worth it to spend $20 on some junk headphones. I say spend the $50 and be really happy with the quality product you bought.
Oh and...

Nah, I was reading youre thread, and decided to check out the ones you bought, not that I'm looking for buttsechs or anything, they just seemed a good deal (Here you are saying you cant get good ones for $25, when you bought a $25 pair yourself..?) at the price. I read a whole bunch of reviews for them, and a lot of them said the wrap around cord was awkward, and the cord easily disinegrated.
Well, here, how about you guy's post you're headphones (if you've got those in the ear ones, especially) and I'll just check those out.

I find they get the job done very well.
STILL there is much better out there. My car's system puts these to fucking shame as well.

Ew, full sized. I used to wear those all the time, but always at home, or just on the bus. Im not health-nut, but I tend to always listen to music while doing something, and not to sound manly, but thats usually while lifting weights, or delivering flyers (Finally landed a summer job - get $50 a box for my moms friends Thai resteraunt) around town.
Well, checking out that JVC site, theres three headphones that seem almost identical:
$25
http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId= ... 110&page=1
and the $30 buck model:
http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId= ... 110&page=1
Well, they seem identical to me, except one says "no sound leakage". I generally dont expect much sound leakage with earbuds, if any, so Im not all too sure about that.
Can any audiphiles tell me what an "Ohm" is?
