Default Good Drummers - 09-12-2005, 10:22 PM

I know this subject has been beaten to death, but its just amazing what some people can do. My favorite drummer, Travis Barker. And before you say he sucks, watch.

Best black metal drummer: Proscriptor from Absu.

Not saying much because black metal isn't exactly known for its amazing drumming.

Edit: And the guy from The Berzerker just for pure speed.

Neil Peart will always be my favourite drummer. His solos are songs; compositions. They're not just randomish rolls and fills. Get the Rush in Rio DVD and watch "La Baterista". Unreal.

Notable mentions:

Nicko McBrain
Mike Portnoy
Eric Carr
Eric Singer
Charlie Benante (waaaaaaaay underrated. Charlie owns.)
Joey Jordison
Animal from The Muppet Show rock:

Nah. Lars is a good drummer, but he seems to do the same fills and sequences over and over. He got REALLY pedestrian in the 90's though. "Load" and "Reload" were lazy albums, drum-wise.

I love his drumming on "...And Justice For All". The entire record is very drum heavy, since he co-produced it.

Oooh, I forgot Nick Menza who played with Megadeth for a few years. Fantastic drummer.
