YAY WMUR!
I think ultimitly this guy will get the job. Although Im not too sure on his mental state after nearly getting blown up and losing 3 of his buddies. I would be worried that after a while he would flip out or something.

i don't see how the fact he is a solider should make me the first wanted to get the job in the first place.

A guy without an ankle injury is obviouslly more qualified.
