if your stalling, give more gas.
On steep hills, set your emergency brake and releaseonce you've reveved up the engine to keep from rolling back.

noob biggrin:

find the hot spot on your clutch / ggas switch ratio, then when your switching to first rev up to about 2000 rpm, then release the clutch and press the gas steadily. then go. thats the best from getting moving from first, on a hill use your parking brake if in hand form. practice, find your hot spot, and your good, in a month it will be no problem, and get some high mileage oil in the thing, espcially if its stadard.

Dont worry you will get a hang of it soon. have fun offroading in that thing. Jeeps seem to hold their resale very well.

Hot spot?

Its called a Friction point where your clutch grabs and you go.

Give it more gas, whenever i drive a standard i tend to like shifting at specific rpm shifting at 10,20,30 is so boring and it feels like it takes you forever to get going. Speedshifting=god

if you wanna have a little fun dont let off the gas while you clutch, its gonna jerk you around its called powershifting. You might be able to get differnt clutches, id recomend a stiffer clutch itll grab better.

hot spot, friction spot... friction causes heat same thing yadda yadda. ugh. + lets give this guy advice on how to drive safely and properly before he starts to get into other shit, last thing you want is to be sending him into a expensive noise situation. he just learning stick ffs.

+ Lev you of all people should know, if he picked up this old cherokee for 500, beating the piss out of it is not the smartest thing to do. going easy on her, daily is a better idea then being spiffy. not to mention he is a new to stick.
