Default The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - 05-18-2005, 06:16 PM

Oblivion trailer was released a couple days ago, and the HD trailer was released today. This is one of my top two games for this year. I'm really looking forward to this one. Should be amazing. If you've every played Morrowind, and liked it, you'll love this.

These are all ingame screen shots:

You can find all the official screens here:

its really slow though, since everyone is downloading the trailer. I uploaded the trailer to my site so you guys could download it at a decent rate since its 80mb.

Hopefully the combat is better than Morrowind...

Morrowind could have been one of the greatest games ever made if wasn't for abysmal combat.

God, yeah, I loved the game, but the combat sucked a ton. Nothing but a click affair.

Yeah, in Morrowind the combat was based on chance. Roll of a dice. If you hit the right number, you hit, if not you miss.

In oblivion, they've already stated that if you swing your sword and it passes through the enemy, it's a hit. If you miss, you miss. They've totally redone the combat system so it should be better.

Really? I got Morrowind with my GF FX 5600 video card a couple years back and I had never heard of the game, but I installed it and couldn't stop playing.

No. The stories aren't really connected to each other. Oblivion takes place 6 years after morrowind, but its in a totally different part of the empire. In each of the elder scrolls games you start off with a totally new character. There will probably be a lot of similarities between morrowind and oblivion that those who have played morrowind will recgonize, but you don't need to play morrowind to get oblivion. I haden't played elder scrolls 1 or 2 when i got morrowind.

All of the NPC's have their own cycle. They don't just stand around now. If their hungry, they go and get food. If their tired, they go to sleep. And if someone steals all their stuff, they'll probably end up stealing food and clothes too.

And theres also mounted combat, so that will be sweet.
