Default I are happy V3 - 11-30-2005, 03:35 PM

So I get home today and I have been offered another position at a company I really liked but was rejected from intially

Dear Nicholas:

Position: Scheduling Associate
Base Salary: $13.00 per hour

Benefits

-Paid Time Off (Vacation/Personal Days) - 120 hours (15 days) per year. During the Initial Employment Period (90 days), Paid Time Off (PTO) time may be accrued for full-time Employees, but may not be used until successful completion of the Initial Employment Period.

-Nine Paid Holidays

-Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medical and Dental Plan:

__________________________________________________ ________

PROS

Dynamic Edge (first offer)
-Yearly Bonuses
-Overtime Pay
-Free Insurance for Nick,
-Vacation Time after 1 year
-Cell Phone Bill Paid
-More fun atmosphere
-Familiar with Product/making decisions about what/what not to buy.

Second to None
-Bonuses
-Straight 9-5 Shift
-Vacation Time after 90 days
-Paid Holidays
-Low Cost Life Insurance
-Insurance
-Much Nicer Office Building/Atmosphere
-Paid Weekly/Biweekly

Cons:

Dynamic Edge
-On call 24/7
-More tasks :tech support, purchasing, inventory control
-Schedule is subject to change depending on what needs done
-Paid monthly

Second to None
- Insurance Cost (a bit costly 170$ per month for one person, 700$ per month for a family)
- Longer Drive
- May get boring, you do the same thing every day
- Not in Technology Field.

Suggestions? Maybe play them off each other and see if I can scam an extra buck or two of them? I run the risk of them pulling the offer though

I feel a leaning toward the 2nd to None job because of the set schedule and all, but dunno

It feels weird being in demand now...

trust your feelings, good insurance is worth alot when kids are involved. Look down the road, which company would you want to be working at in 5 years?

Tough call Nyck. Remember the cost of insurance is not just the monthly premium. You need to find out how much they pay for a doctor's visit etc. (and especially for any little Nycks that are on the way.)

I suck at giving employment advice so let me just say that if you pick one and like it then that's the one I was gonna say, but if you hate it, I was gonna say the other one.

wtf with all these people who want nycks nutz?? pick the one you think you will like more and i would stick with your wifes insurance if its better. from what you put down, i would go with dynamic edge. yearly bonuses are good, insurance is free, and you get a free phone. the main thing is you said you liked the atmosphere and you are familiar with the work. i would go with them if i were you, but what are you more comfortable with? just cause you arent familiar with a product doesnt disqualify you. Learning new things on a job makes you more valuabe and gives you experience, like +10. $13 an hour for someone who has a degree is a bit low, but if your rent is that cheap, then you shouldnt have to worry about it. what are you going to do?

Why ask us? Most of us have no real adult experiences like owning a home, having a child, paying a mortgage or insurance bills. IMHO you should ask your parents are some close friends of yours.

That or do what you want man, it's up to you. In anycase I wish you good luck with whatever you decide to take.
