up to 7.25? wow, that would definetly give those with jobs incetive to keep those jobs and become cotent with "just getting by" imo

min wage increases dont take effect usually until the next year or few years as well. I just think that its a bit messed up that congress decides that they need or deserve a pay increase but at the same time the sentate would knock this down when the min wage hasnt increased since 1998. this bill would have increased the min wage to $7.25 starting in 2009. I think its hypocritical to keep the min wage down but increase their own checks when members make over 150 grand a year.

actually it hasn't increased since 96. /me wonders what the hell it was before 96.. *shivers*

these are politcians were talking about here, dont be too suprised by all of this.

Nothing, I was just saying that technically they don't change their own salaries, sheesh.

I agree with coleman though. It's dumb to have a federal min wage because costs of living are different in different places. They should determine this in the states.
