Id have to say no, computers were brought about to break codes and nothing more. Weapons technology took a quantum leap on the advent of ww2 with the germans innovating left right and centre with weapons like the tiger tank, the mg-42 and the flying wing jet (experimental).
Opinions?

Well without the wars, we'd be at a very different place in the type of things we develop.
Would we be as technologically advanced? Not sure, but I think we would hvae gone in a very different direction.

I certainly don't think we would be in the same place now...It would have also taken a lot longer too...The technology during the war was rushed, more people devoted their time and effort to it...

Probably not, as far as weapon systems go we would be much less advanced. War is, as morbid as it sounds, good for progress.
Same thing as with the Dark Ages, had it not been for the dumb pricks in the Catholic Church who forbade any sort of scientific learning or experiments, we'd be well and truly in space by now, not just a select few from NASA and the ultra rich, but all of us would have the chance to go out there. Perhaps even the Moon and Mars would be colonised by now ?? Who knows.

I dunno. Who cares? You can't change the past, so screw it.
