Default Sniper Valley 2 - 02-15-2003, 06:57 PM

Because of how badass the original is, I decided that I am going to make a sequel from scratch. But I plan on making it bigger and better with fully destroyed buildings and a spooky environment. Lemme know what you would like to see out of this map and I'll do my best to work on it. Thanks.

Lots O' Buildings is one of the ideas I had. I am looking for full building prefabs to make it easier but it looks like I might have to build them from scratch. Also, I am using a custom sky skin and the ambience is the one used in Crossroads.

I have already run into a problem. I compiled the map to see what its like with the new sky, ambience and lighting but on the first step its gives me this error : MAX_SURFACE_INFO . Anyone tell me what this error means?

Thanks.

Ok I fixed the error. Something stupid. Anyways, gimme some input on what kinda things should be in this map. The layout is already done and I am telling you, its on the verge of huge. My idea for the building setup is like this. 2 two-story buildings in the back with a metal catwalk connecting them and have 3 or 4 smaller single-story buildings in the front. Off to the sides of the buildings will be some small hills with trees and bushes scattered throughout. Thats a rough sketch of what I might do.

Also, I need to know if you all want the 2 sides of the valley connected so that players can cross or do you want it to be like the original and have no connection to the other side. Lemme know. Thanks.

leave em unconnected most definately, but put a lot more distance to the rear of the map than the original had.

any chance we could get a hill like on the allies side of prado if you get up to the top of that and work across you can get some serious long range sniping on the go.

Update :

Okay I just added my first building in but I just realized how big I made each side of the map. I am going to shorten it a bit from the rear (dont worry it is still big) and I will replace what I took away with large rolling hills.

So here is the updated layout. 2 sides unconnected, each with 1 row of destroyed buildings and each side with large rolling hills to the rear. A new sky skin and light battle ambience. And of course trees/bushes scattered about. Anything else?
