Best racing game for the PC ?? -
03-23-2005, 02:34 PM
Ok fellas, Arkan needs your help. I'm looking for a good racing game for the PC. I like road courses and a game where you can choose to drive an American muscle car. I haven't played a good racing game since "Need 4 speed 5" so i've been out of the loop.
So how 'bout it, whats a good car racing game??
---you can show screenies to illustrate.

I guess you didn't read the title of this thread.
I'm looking for PC games, not some console game.

I hear in need for speed underground 2 that they have a new 05 Mustang, but the game in itself is dumb due to the 'Fast and Furious" feel it has.

Midtown Madness 2

It's old, but insanely fun. Two hooge maps, San Fran and London, graphics suck compared to modern day stuff, but races beat NFS anyday, as there are pedestrians (Who ALWAYS leap out of the way in the nick of time) and tons of cars. There is damage modelling, but physics are reeeaaal light, so you can pull off the craziest stuff, like running off buildings onto London tour buses. There's your usual street races, a race against time one, and a stunt mode, which basically sets up obstacles for you, and you gotta...do them. Like jumping over a river in London, or just simply swerving and dodging around tons of traffic. Plus, there multiplayer (most likely dead...but I remember climbing the San Fransisco mall, where all these other cars would be, and we'd see who could last up there the longest, by knocking eachother off).
Plus, you can get the game for $5.

No I definitely read the title and your post; which is why I said what I did. Throwing in my $0.02.

Toca race driver 2, I played it quite a bit, good campain, endless types of racing from F1 to rally to vintage
. trailers: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1071
two demos you can try out, one is for multi and you can race open wheel ford cars and the single player you can race vintage which is old mustangs and jag's. Game looks ok but its the racing effects that make it one of the best racing games IMO.

I hate raceing, but there is some free game called Nito Raceing. Everybody at school plays it, and you can download cheat programs full of spyware to destory your pc also. Sounds good.
