[quote:b10a4]WARNING! Uniquenick Problem with Gamespy Accounts
There is a problem with Gamespy Accounts that is starting to become widespread. The problem occurs when you have 2 profiles @ Gamespy on the same Email Address. Some people have found that when logging into Gamespy they are asked to make a choice of which profile they would like to use, or are asked to delete one, after which they have then found they Cannot log into BF2 at all because their Uniquenick does not exist anymore.
I knew nothing of this until last night my cousin and I were going to go for a killing spree and he phoned me to say he couldn't login, after searching around I found quite a few other people have had the exact same problem occur to them, he had been on Fileplanet earlier to download a demo, here is a quote from someone else it happened to:
Quote:IF you change anything with your gamespy account you will NOT be able to play bf2 with that account anymore! And EA will NOT help you fix the problem.
I logged into fileplanet to download the 1.03 patch. A warning screen came up telling me I have two accounts associated with one email. I thought "that's strange why is that?" Fileplanet pretty much tells you to delete one of these so you delete one and whammo bf2 is now screwed...
I emailed EA support, I got zero help, they told me to flush my current 40 hours of gameplay and stats I have accumulated and create a new account and start over. All I get now when I log into bf2 is "The uniquenick provided is incorrect." all because I deleted one of my profiles on the gamespy website.
I'm not the only one with this problem.
So.....my cousin is now a Private again, even though I can still retrieve his First Sergeant Stats on Compare in BFHQ, he cannot use that account anymore and neither EA or Gamespy will do anything about it, they just pass the buck back to each other.
