Well he got it from a torrent site, not a newsgroup which is the preferred method to keep your shit safe. I dont know too much about how BT works, but at the least I know IP's are visible from the people you are getting info from. Wouldnt be too difficult to go from there.

Comcast isnt tracking anything - I'm sure NBC/Universal is though.

Comcast is probably covering their asses to make sure NBC/Universal doesn't sue them.

Comcast is known to be one of the worst ISPs in terms of illegal downloaders prosecuted.

Yes, it is NBC that is tracking it. I got a similar e-mail from my ISP about a month ago. However they sent me a link to NBC's copyright infringement thing and just said to click a link saying you will remove the file from your computer blah blah. Like that really stopped me from downloading other stuff rolleyes:
