I know! I'm waiting on a decent WW1 FPS game. With that era, they have an oppurtunity to make a really nice looking, dark, stylised game about the great war.
LOL, who will take a risk in a Great War game ? No compayn will... The only ones daring enough = modders.

all of these games are the same. I'm getting tired of them to tell you the truth.

A great war game would be quite fanstastic, the best I've played so far is BF1918. One has to consider though, the tactics used in the great war. infantry were under orders to walk into machine-gun fire. What with the modern concept of infantry tactics & bounding overwatch etc any great war game would be at risk purely because the gamers have better tactics than the troops did at the time. If someone starts shooting a machine gun at you then you would take cover, in the great war they charged... I think having a bayonet fight with someone in the trenches with artillery exploding all round would make for quite a dramatic game. Stuff like the Battle of the Somme & Pachendale was like the start of Saving Private Ryan x 8 hours, 60,000 casualties for the British Army on the first day. oOo:

well it looks like shit but when gameplay can boast:

What is the maximum number of players per server?
Our technology have been tested to handle over 10,000 players per game world.

then maybe I'd try it out, if you have to pay monthly then fuck off.

I'm sure the battles would be small as most will be driving around in fields, with no co-ordination but hey, I know nothin about the game.

Hope it works but i won't hold my breath....

I think if they worked the game around a smaller campaign, like for instance, The Argonne Forest (The Lost battalion), or something similar that had limited trench warfare....

...Or you could have less of an all out fast-paced shooter and have a game with missions like merely getting back to your lines unharmed. You could have trench-raid missions, daylight raids, anything....I'm sure out of the whole of WW1 there is potentially a great story to tell in a game.

You do have to pay monthly. That's the main reason for why I left. It wasn't really worth it when I was playing it though, way too unfinished.

One thing I remember about it, even in its earlier stages, was that the battles weren't totally misguided. You could have quite a bit of fun.

It'd be totally different now though, so I have no idea. Looks like the game has had a complete overhaul since I've played it.

Not worth paying monthly for though.

Hmmmm, I figure it was in USD, although that price seems a little steep even for them. I dunno, it should say on the website the current price. It's been too long since I played it, so don't take my word for it.
