Default Whats with censorship these days? - 06-08-2003, 07:49 AM

i was watching MTV2 (nothing else on at 3 am) and this song by Seether or whatever comes on. And in one part of the song, hes supposed to say "And she told me she had a gun" but they censored out gun. WTF? Whats bad about that? And my sister said that in some Good Charlotte song "Lifestyles of Famous Amos or some sort" and they said "think we should rob them" and they censored out 'rob'. Whats going on?!?!?

Yeah, people censor words like gun, kill, stab, slit, slut, and other violent words. This doesn't bother me, since I do not listen to this kind of music anyway, but it won't help society in any way. People can pretty much guess what they are saying.

I dunno why they censor "bad" words in the first place. God forbid they'll ever hear those words in real life.

shit, piss, fuck, cock, cunt, motherfucker and tits

There, I defeated the purpose of censorship.

They did that with Sublimes Satneria. When he says "Daddy's got a new .45." they block out .45.

here in canada you can say anything on tv. they dont censor much up here. the public channels can show the sopranoes & the osbornes uncensored. I like it that way. they actully treat people like people. not like children.

yep, they also censored out the word "Jesus" on a Law and Order episdoe. And it wasnt like a "Jesus Christ, look what happened!" but a "Please jesus, help us get through this" or something

censorship does suck. Its all the 50 year old moms. If they dont watch the shows, who cares, they CAN stop their children from watching programs they object to. Its not like the good housekeeping channel has objective programming that needs to be censored, so watch that and stop complaining about shit that people like.!
