Default Practically a steal - 02-10-2004, 07:15 PM

i went to office depot looking for a computer desk, just looking around and i notice a linksys router for $70.00, after a while i couldn't get it for that price, so i put it back, then this router caught my eye. The price tag on the shelf showed $69.00 with a $40.00 Mail in rebate = $29.99, iam like saweet that's cool, i didn't really notice the router as much as the price, it was a 54 mbps wireless router by netgear <images below>. I get to the checkout, and the cashier rings it for for $99.99, iam like whoa, that's not what the shelf said, so i go and pull the tag off the shelf, and hand it to her. She looks at the barcodes, or something, and says that it was stacked wrong, and has no idea what price she should charge me, so she called for the manager, the manager comes down, and we fill him in on the situation, he asks me if the router was over this sticker, and i replied yes, and it was by the way, lol. he's like ok over ride it and give it to them for 69.99, ((saving 30.00)) the cashier rings it up and asks for 32.45. Iam like huh, but quickly caught it.
she basically turned the mail-in rebate into an instast rebate, in which the mail-in rebate had no effect on this particular router anyways. ((saving 70.00 )) i quickly paid for it and got the heck out of there.

went into walmart around thanksgiving time a few years back, was buying all the stuff that we needed for a thanksgiving dinner...
ham turkey dressing all that stuff. Get up to the register, and the turkey was like 25 cents a lb. it rang up as just 25 cents a turkey. not a small turkey oh no, a 25 lb + turkey, i go grab another basket, go to the back, and grab $5.00 worth of turkeys.

Ka ching biggrin: biggrin:

One time me and my ex rented a hotel room for the night near Disneyland for our first year anniversary. We placed a call from the room to order some pizza and drinks and spent the rest of the night watching tv and being together. She has really strict parents and couldnt stay the night, so we had to go check out after about 11 hours. In the office, the clerk swiped my credit card but had trouble with it because the machine wouldnt read the card correctly. While we were waiting, he made some stupid joke about us only using the hotel room for a couple of hours, but we didnt think it was funny, so he shut up about it. After a couple of more tries, he finally had to tally up the total using his keyboard. When he handed the receipt to me to sign, I noticed that he only charged me for the phonecall and not the rate for the whole night. I didn't say anything about it, so I just signed it, grabbed my card and my girl and got the fuck out of there before they relized what had happened. I checked my credit card bill for months to see if they ever realized it, but they never did. So instead of paying for $90 a night, I only got charged a sweet $0.40 for the phone call. beer:
