because now you can get from say, russia to england in like 2 hours which for people who are afraid to fly is a good thing. Plus why would you not want to go 310 mph?

There's no train from russia to england.

If there were, it's 2500kms between the two, thus you'd have to be going 1250km/hour on average.

There is a need for those trains, especially in japan. There are probably lots of people who travel to tokyo every day for work, and that would reduce times by a lot.

They have wanted to put one between Calgary and Edmonton because a lot of people do business between the two cities. Their 300kms apart, and thus take 3 hours to drive. A train doing 300kms would do it in an hour

I know theres no train from russia to england. My point is its a fast mode of transportation and The train gets you where you are going very quickly.
