I learned how to skin a while ago, and am generally happy to make skins for people, but alot of the stuff you outlined is very valid, especially the having pictures as references part. Remember people, Skinners dn't get paid, they make skins for people out of the kindness of their hearts, so show them a bit of patience and courtesy angel:
