Default Possible Sound Conflict - 07-02-2003, 08:17 PM

Ok, I've seen other people have this problem and know how to theoretically fix it, but now I'm the victim of said problem, and every fix I've ever heard of isn't working. And i think I know why.

The Problem: I just recently did a re-format and clean install of XP on my computer, (specs to follow). I've got MOHAA re-installed and patched. Now, and this is the first time I've had this problem, when I go to start MOHAA, I get that lock up at the grey screen, the sound cuts in and out and the the graphics are very slow to change, very! All of this before I get to the lobby.

I know this is a Sound Device Problem. Mohaa is having a bitch of a time getting thing's in order, and my sound just isn't cooperating. I've tried everything I can, including completely uninstalling my card, physically, and re-installing, this includes getting rid of any Registry entries pertaining to my card.

Here's the deal, as soon as I physically install the card, and start-up, XP wants the drivers, I direct it toward my CD, but XP reports that the driver's can't be found, and install's it's own from it's 'known device' database.

Anybody have any ideas, tips, etc? Help is appreciated.
