Default Robot army? - 01-27-2005, 03:12 PM

I think maybe someone posted something about this... I apologize if so...

But yesterday I heard a radio show discussing this new American Army experiment and its VERY freaky. It's called: Special Weapons Observation Reconnaissance Detection Systems- or SWORDS.

There are 18 fighting robots being deployed in Iraq in March. They will be able to shoot and kill targets through being remotely controlled with a Joystick like device with target viewed on a video screen at a military base.

I listened to Pacifica Radio- progressive radio station- and there were people discussing the horror of the idea that now American soldiers will be completely removed from having the emotion of shooting a human face to face in person...

And instead will be able to kill them via a joystick- as if they are playing a video game.

This is extremely scary, and at least in the US, nobody knows about this. There was a little story in the AP about it, but it has not gotten much publicity.
