Borrowed nothing, its a lucasarts game which means they can use basically anything they want including missions from other games.

Gee whiz, you're a smart one, where did they dig you up from ay ? Rogue Leader is based loosely on the original movies so ofcourse you're going to be flying against the Empire trying to blow up Tie Fighters and Star Destroyers..... The only mission that Rogue Leader has that is similar to X-Wing Alliance in anyway is the Battle of Endor, but the Rogue Leader version is much better, a bit linear, but much better. I wish LucasArts would release a new Star Wars space sim taking advantage of the latest and greatest, would be bloody awesome.
