A 16Bit application will not run properly, if at all, in XP. Try the Compatibility Mode by right clicking the mouse on the Office 97 executable and using the Windows 95 or 98 Modes. Go into the Memory tab and choose EMS and XMS Memory modes at 1024 each. That may work, but I doubt it. Good luck.
