You have no Idea what your talking about its not the OpenGL sucks is that Co's like ATI has shitty drivers, Nvidia has no problem with openGL.
OpenGl rocks and so does the quake3 engine.
the only problem I have with OpenGl games is that they are inherantly Dark, but this can be remedied very easily.

I can almost gurantee he has a ATI vid card, or his drivers are messed
