Sure "they wont use there technoligy for fear we'll use nuclear weapons", but a crow bar aint exactally intergalactic technology.

YET, at the end of the movie an alien is holding a 70 - 80 pound child WITH ONE ARM. Just one of many slip ups.
very well put.
I think people are reading way too much into the aliens past. We dont know that they know what water is. Thats like saying you'd go to another planet, eat a piece of fruit, die, and be like "ah fuck didnt you know that fruit is deadly to you?" - We dont know that they have water on their planet.

As far as the doors are concerned, the character MKS played told Mel - "they seem to have trouble with doors" which just means to me they dont have the hands to work them well, but remember hes not "grabbing" the kid, hes got him cradled on his arm.

I liked SIGNS. . .it was a very interesting movie. War of The Worlds w/o the big war.

I do with MKS would do a true popcorn film, one which didnt try to have this huge heavy ass message in it.
