and the enemy just stand still and let you do this??

i think weapons are equally balanced for each side.
The axis mostly defend, so get yourself a nice spot and the mauser is great, and because youre in defence the loading doesnt matter too much because you can hide easily.

The garand is great for its fast shots, allowing you to push forward quickly.

obviously though in the times where the roles are reversed and the axis have to attack while the allies defend, the allies can fire off quickly while still being defensive, however, a good aim of the mauser can usually take an enemy out with 1 or two good hits, because when the allies are hiding, they expose the vulnerable points of their body in order to shoot back.
