Still, Americans have an inflated idea of government foreign aid spending. In survey after survey, the median estimate is that foreign aid eats up 20 percent of the federal budget. The real number is about 1 percent, including both military and humanitarian aid."

And obviously this article was written before more aid was given by the US.

We all know the US gives a lot, but I think what most people are talking about is that the us has a huge economy., and relate that to aid, its not the same as other countries. I think thats what the UN guy was going for.

Anyway, I don't care. The US can give as much or as little as they want. It's your country.
