He said that they have been instructed to, in June, begin implementing patrol formations based on a much lower number of troops. His best guess is that - barring any sort of disaster - US troops will officially begin withdrawing in November of this year. He also said he wouldn't be surprised if they quietly pulled some of the support personnel without any formal notice in order to prevent the insurgents from being emboldened.
