back to topic:
the first thing you must do is take some kind of course to teach you how to handle a weapon. Then start with a .22 rifle. If you start you will become addicted. Shooting can be a very fun (&safe) sport[/quote:96af1]

I had the opportunity to check out some Norinco M1A1 rifles, some years ago, and felt that they were very cheaply made. The receivers were stamped out of some flimsy sheet metal. They also had the same type of rifles reworked by some company down in AZ. They were buying the guns wholesale and if I remember correctly they were only reworking about 2 out of 5. All new receivers manufactured out of good materials made all the difference in the world.

The second point is has Norinco obtained licenses to manufacture those weapons. The Chinese have always had a problem about just copying a design without proper licenses. With the way everybody tiptoes around the Chinese they get away with it.

A third point is those prices make me think Saturday night special.
