New to the movies, yeah, but not to the whole universe thing. I never saw the original Star Wars, save for the little quips they show on TV like the "Luke, I am your father" part, and somehow, I know the whole plot (the basics...Luke new jedi, destroys Death Star, kills dad..? )without seeing the movies...
