are you saying Canada does not have gangs? You should clean the sand out of your ears, you head has been burried in the sand too long. I have never had a problem with gangs and I have grown up in the Detroit area all my life, thats not to say there are no gangs in Detroit it is just I have never had a problem with any. From what I understand Toronto is filled with gangs but Id imagine if you are smart you know where to go and where not to go. It is the same in every large city in the world, there are places you go and places you dont[/quote:eea27]

Not at all.

There have been shootings in Calgary and gang related activities, however, it's not a huge problem as of yet. Edmonton has a bit of trouble with gangs...I’d probably say their one of the worst places in Canada for gangs, but I just don't see gang related crime as a huge issue in Canada. I don't really thing there are any places in Calgary that I couldn’t or wouldn’t go. There are bad parts of the city, but there aren’t any places that if I walk into, I’ll get confronted. I can walk downtown alone at night no problems. And this is in a city of one million.

I can only speak for the places I’ve spent a lot of time. I have lived in Calgary for 21 years. I’ve been all over this city. I don’t see a gang problem.

I’ve been to Toronto and walked all over the place there since driving takes way too long. There are probably some places I wouldn’t want to go in Toronto for sure. Same for Montreal and Quebec City, although I spent minimal times in all these places so I don’t know them as well as Calgary.

Are gangs a problem in Canada? Absolutely. We have them, every country has them. As long as they exist, they’re a problem. Are gangs in Canada disruptive to the effect that I can’t go to the places I want to go? I’ve never had to think about gang activity in anything I have ever done.
