Forgot to answer your DHCP question.

DHCP is a way to issue people who connect to your private network ( in your home) . This will issue them an IP address when they connect.

It is very hard to run a server from an IP address, which has been issued via DHCP. This is because it could change every time your log back on. So if your trying to forward a port to a specific IP. Your IP might not be the same next time you connect.

Rule of thumb, never forward a port that is part of your DHCP table. Linksys can set aside a number of IP address that are not part of the DHCP pool. I usually start my DHCP pool at 100. This way I have a round number to remember and use one of the lower IP address for my servers.

Hope this helped a little bit

What really annoys me. Is that game publisher who uses GameSpy never offer any info on there sites. You would think they know that this causes problems with people who use broadband. Most people use a router . Why the hell don't they provide more info on their web site on what exact ports to forward and how to do it.
