Basically it will help Dell gain some of its performance back because they will now offer AMD systems and not have to go thru all the dealings of actually buying amds and making systems themselves

All about the "cool" factor as well. I think dell generally have the image of being office based pc's probably because theyre intel powered. The xps pc has a nice looking case, alienware case looks a bit eek: for my liking but thneyre known for producing gaming pc's.
