Holy fuck, I bet EVERY FUCKING COUNTRY IN THE WORLD has a cache of the same size, if not larger of this same type of weapon, and it is probably working. Really if some depleted now next to useless chemical weapon is worth the lives of a near 100 000 civ's and 2500 dead American soldiers.... I think not.

1 no, they dont

2 the reason the Gulf War ended was, in part ,that he would destroy ALL OF THEM- he lied now its time to pay. This ALONE was/is enough for the UN to go in there but the UN has no balls so the strong arm of the UN has to do it (again) I would love the USA to drop the UN as fast as possible and send thier asses packing. Maybe they can set up in France since thats where all the bribe money is

the thing is, if we found 500 old pieces he didn't destroy, and he can't account for many of the other weapons that he was TOLD to destroy, then why is the American public assuming there are none? They have to be somewhere....

I wonder why he didn't just use them, then? He was still in power when the U.S was on his doorstep...

He could have gone out with a bang, surely he didn't believe he was going to win the war....?

I am surprised he didnt, his troops had the gear one would need if you deployed such a nasty weapon

1. YES they do, you can make mustard gas with household chemicals.

2. As far as I am concerned, as long as he halted his Nuclear plans there is no real problem.

Um...You do realise people call them WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION and not just 'Nukes' for a reason, right?

Mustard Gas, and other Chemical weapons also cause MASS DESTRUCTION.

MY point being even if Iraq was not invaded..... ANY halfwit could make mustard gas or Chlorine gas. NUclear weapons being one of the only real reasons for any Invasion, and even then so I still feel it is a poor excuse.

Nuclear capabilities > Mustard gas.

FOr Stackem.. I am just using common sense, this is nothing to go to war about. Maybe you don't realize how devestating it is.

I dont realize how devetating war is or WNDs in the hands of Sadaam. I fully understand both and you do not. If you think a nuke is the only WMD then it isnt even worth a debate because you need to check your facts.

I dont know you so I cant judge you but I think your political ideals are as far left=whacked as can be and I am on the complete other side than you. I wish you could understand what Sadaam did/has done and what he was capable of doing. He lied about destroying ALL of his WMDs and he would have used them somewhere. He needed to be stopped AT ALL COSTS. Yes i understand some of those costs are American/Allies lives but I feel it is worth it. If my kid was a soldier I would feel the same (before you go there)

They had the hearings yesterday about these wmd's and I'm learning more as I hear more about them.

Gaffry (?), the man giving military information about the topic, had some interesting things to say. Sarin is VERY potent--more than a hundred times more potent than anthrax. 1kg of this material can kill tens of thousands of people...you only need 5mm of the stuff to kill a person instantly. Saddam had a lot of this material on hand. If you say they're depleted or not, thousands of people can still die from it.

Another interesting thing I heard on the talk radio today was that Saddam and his "henchmen" had working plans to put sarin and other chemicals into perfume and spray bottles. They were going to ship it over to the USA and parts of Europe.

Gaffry does say that these were weapons that the administration were looking for as they entered the country. Only a quater of 1% of all the weapons of Iraq have been checked to see if they can be classified as WMD's. Why do people constantly say "There are none! Let's get the hell out of there! There's nothing there to be found."? Weapons of mass destruction don't have to be nuclear warheads Shorthand. It doesn't just mean blowing up large buildings. It also has the meaning of mass killing (i.e. sarin gas)
