20 hits from a BAR....hmmm...i would think that a BAR would have the same caliber bullet of a plane machine gun (however i could be gravely mistaken) or close to it. therefore its not as unrealistic as you think.

also, people who say you can unload clips into people and nothing happens...need to get used to the damage systems and bullet ballistics. generally, with the bar i kill in about five hits...with the thompson about 6 or 7.

the machine gun in BF1942 is quite easy to use, actually, if you lead your target. and also, the machine gun in mohaa is dead accurate at full auto. the game has no fucking recoil for christ sakes.
