It's because they're attention whores. Most gay people are attention whores. If they weren't, then they wouldn't go to the trouble to talk gay, walk gay, and act gay to let people know they are gay. Of course there are some gays who act normal (I know two gay guys in particular that act just like any other man would). That tells me that gays who act overtly flamboyant are doing it on purpose, and it's not needed.
