Personally, I would disregard ANYTHING SPF says, EXCEPT computer hardware...

You guys are very funny..

If I DO get a cpu/mobo first, the TNT2 will be the bottleneck and my games will still look like shit.

If I get a good video card now, my cpu might not perform as well as if I had a 900 with the card, but you can be DAMN sure the games framerate would be great and pushed to the limit.

Why you insist on contradicting me, I don't know.

It's like saying I need to change all of my houses' electrical system when the only real problem is the fucked up fridge !

*sigh*

In regards to your 3rd reason for upgrading cpu-mobo first : 3rd generation processors = P3 and Athlon / Thunderbird.

4th generation would be the AMD Palamino and Intel P4.

It might work better with these generations of processors because of .. say .. new instructions for optimal gaming conditions, but it does not at ALL mean the video card would perform like shit on a 2nd generation processor : it simply means it was optimized for 3rd gens..

Just like music sounds much better on high quality speakers but also sounds nice on normal speakers..
