I was informed they got rid of an ass load of those abreviations. 11m was mech infantry. 11b was general ground pounders. 11x was an uncharacterized infantry, such as someone with Airborne, Air Assualt, or Ranger in there contract. Where your not given a designation until you complete or fail the course thats in your contract.
11x's were split some were trained 11m, some 11c for two weeks i think. 11m was trained on the bradly and squad movements. While the Charlies trained for mortars.
11c was mortar infantry. I recall that cause when i was in basic they were seperated for two weeks to under go specialized motar training while the rest did squad tactics. We just called em the "charlie fags" cause they got fucking candy, junk food, and burn barrels for a week why we froze our asses off. Damn that snack truck, those fuckers had dept up to there asses when they came back. I heard stories of kids spending 50 bucks on shit.
Simply put:
11x: Specalized contract, trained as 11m, or 11c in case of failure of specalty contract.
11b: Trained to pound ground.
11m: Trained to ride into combat.
11c: Trained to be snack eatting pussies that put shit in tubes.
Basically 11xray's are the wild cards. There job depends on what there contract says there going to be trained for. If they fail that they become any one of the other 11 series.

PFC, I find nothing funny about, and I quote, "Canada = America's Bitch"
I can take a joke when there's one being made. You're about as funny as throat cancer.

Awesome Job! -

thats a great sig, thank you very much White Rabbit, you're outstanding at your work.
Well put miscguy. Woops, I totally spaced indirect fire Infantry (for obvious reasons lol), got those mixed up. I didn't have time to write all that, I was doing it by memory and I must have been drunk when i wrote it too. lol. forgot to say 11X is contracted too. Apparently you knew your shit better than I, and you are or were in the real deal. If so, what unit are you or were you in? I'm currently in the DEP, and leave July for Benning. I actually am contracted for 11X Airborne with assignment to 82nd when I make it, but Bravo sounded better than an untrained Xray, even though thats what I am.
