just smaller schools that all = cheaper tuition, more one on one student/professor interaction, and pretty much the same education.

Sometimes, but if you are going up against somebody in the top of their class at a big name school, you are marked down right off the bat. Those smaller schools will also not usually attract as good of professors as the bigger ones where more research goes on, alot of people have lost the point of what a university really is.

my guidance counselor told me i could be accepted by University of Pennsylvania, which is like a second tier ivy league school =)))
but im looking at: Marist, Marymount, American, Aledphi, Rutgers, Penn State, University of Maryland and University of Delaware.
i want to take the ACTs even though most eastern schools dont look at them, its mostly SATs over here.

You have to send them your Highschool transcript, and they evaluate you based on your semester grades..the ACT/SAT is like nitrous, it gives you a boost/edge over others.

Even if it were true, thats not at all retarded. Colleges want intelligent students, its hard to seperate them from the unintelligent by anything other than a national standardized test. HS gpa is good and all, but anyone who puts in even a little work in HS can pull a high 3.x easily, you dont have to be very intelligent to do that. And you can take these tests as many times as you want, not a one shot deal.
