that has a lot less chance of happening in North America, than killings from stupid hunters.

Last year there were 4 people killed in Texas due to huntings accidents. 4, in the whole state of Texas, and a lot of people hunt in Texas. You say to outlaw guns because of those deaths, yet in 2002, 45 people died a day due to drunk driving related car wrecks. 45 a day. I don't hear you saying that alcohol should be outlawed. I'm not saying it is possible to outlaw alcohol, or that it should be, but you are biased in you crusade to protect the common people.

You ever go target shooting with a Bow and arrow? Ever picked up a replica sword and give it a swing? Ever played a trumpet? Ever shot off fireworks?

All of those things, yes even the trumpet (to rally troops), are derived from weapons and tools of war, just like guns.

And, if I take what You are saying literally, you're only supposed to use an assault rifle to kill people? You can't use it in another, safe way for recreation? Hmm...
ummm. So you are tryig to get them out of the hands of Arabs thousands of miles away, yet place them in the hands of millions of white people(majority) in America....[/quote:89c0f]

No, those terroists have automatic weapons, rocket propelled grenades, ect. things that are outlawed. Just because it is an assault rifle, that does not mean that it shots fully automatic. Which leads to an unanswered question:

An assault weapon. a gun designed for military and law enforcement use, lets see what the dictionary says.

Assault rifle

n : any of the automatic rifles or semiautomatic rifles with large magazines designed for military use [syn: assault gun]

Accorindg to this[/url:4da6b], non-military style semi-automatic firearms are just as powerful military-style semi-automatic firearms.

Heres another thing:
[quote:4da6b]In fact most assault weapons are less powerful than hunting rifles.[/quote:4da6b]

Another:
[quote:4da6b]Assault weapons are not the weapons of choice among drug dealers, gang members or criminals in general. Assault weapons are used in about one-fifth of one percent (.20%) of all violent crimes and about one percent in gun crimes. It is estimated that from one to seven percent of all homicides are committed with assault weapons (rifles of any type are involved in three to four percent of all homicides). However a higher percentage are used in police homicides, roughly ten percent. (There has been no consistent trend in this rate from 1978 through 1996.) Between 1992 and 1996 less than 4% of mass murders, committed with guns, involved assault weapons. (Our deadliest mass murders have either involved arson or bombs.)[/quote:4da6b]

[quote:4da6b]There are close to 4 million assault weapons in the U.S., which amounts to roughly 1.7% of the total gun stock.[/quote:4da6b]

[quote:4da6b]However, current "assault weapon" legislation defines certain semi-automatic weapons as "assault weapons.[/quote:4da6b]
Certain, not all.

[quote:4da6b]An example of assault weapon legislation is the Federal 1994 Crime Bill. The bill in part outlaws new civilian manufacture of certain semi-automatic assault weapons. It also prohibits new civilian manufacture of "large capacity ammunition feeding devices" declared certain weapons as assault weapons, and states a semi-automatic rifle is an assault weapon if it can accept a detachable magazine and has two or more of the following:

A folding or telescoping stock
A pistol grip
A bayonet mount
A flash suppressor, or threads to attach one
A grenade launcher.
(For the Crime Bill's definition of assault shotguns and pistols, a list of assault weapons, and further legal issues see Crime Bill FAQ.) [/quote:4da6b]

Plus there is much more.

You can hunt with some, but few, assault rifles. [AR-15 = .223 which you can hunt prarie dog] Which gives citizens a purpose to own them.

Also, if there is no need for a civilian to own a assault rifle, then there is no need for a civilian to own a glock, beretta ect. You can do just as much if not more with an assault rifle than a pistol.

You have posted 6848 [10.01 posts per day] times and I have to much time on my hands?

I plan on owning guns in the future. I am just saying not every assault rifle is useless and meaningless.

Hunting for sport isn't necessary, commuting on a train for work is. Drusg are ILLEGAL, i don't see how anyone can make an argument for ILLEGAL stuff, cuz techically they are banned. Hell in ontario you get more shit for smoking than shooting a gun with our laws.

which is why i said you can't compare hunting animals to drugsm because one actually is illegal. Actually fine, if weed was legalized i would be ok with hunting being acceptable.

It may not be necessary but people like to do it. Which gives a reason why people would use an assault rifle.

I see what you are trying to say. There is absolutely no need which is true. But they can be used legally which is why people have them. [Prarie dog, practicing]

but there are ways to do it...like joining the military, if you're so inclined to shoot guns, become a cop or join the military where it can have more use.
