Just played a bit in the editor. Ok the helo is kinda fun but the missles are weak. The tanks and APCs are pretty good. And the tac launchers explosions, some of the small rocks in the air cause splashes, but the big ones dont.

More Crysis demo tweakage.

Very nice for those who don't want to use the editor. It adds every weapon and vehicle to the demo map.

Why would they swim? They'd have to lower there weapons just like you do when you swim, not a good tactic. Also, the AI in the demo for Far Cry couldnt swim, they would get in the water and just tread water. Yet in the game they would swim to you if you were sniping from an island.

Ok, i'm running with the new drivers everything set to high with no aa and it looks pretty good and runs pretty much 20+ fps all the time. Finally got through the demo level. Seems to me that you have to use cloak a lot in order to take out enemies because there are always 5+ of them around. So you have to be really stealthy to take them all out. You can't really run and gun in this game.
I'll buy this for sure.

I still think the game has some annoying issues, i was playing it earlier shooting at a korean and it seemed that because the leaves of a tree were in the line of fire they were absorbing the bullets and either none were hitting or the enemy was only taking minor damage. I could see him reacting to the hits but it took almost a full mag to take him out, and this was with no silencer on the scar.

Yeah i've had that happen as well, i'll sit back and single shot a guy through a whole mag before he drops. Most are wearing body armor and single headshot will work, especially if its a sneaky shot. There seems to be a emphisis on headshots, and the quick kill. Since if you shoot the chest and get in a fire fight its going to be alot of work, yet creeping around and using the suit to deliver killing rounds is extremly effective.
What sucks is that only works on the mercs, the aliens are all run and gun from the videos ive seen. Theres no real use of cover and tactics. Which frankly may ruin this one just like it did far cry. Because i think everyone enjoyed far cry up until the mutant parts where all those "toss a rock to distract" tactics went out the window.
Also, those DX10 tricks worked nicley and didnt put a huge dent in my FPS under XP, only mildly improved the looks but the parts it did were very nice, even if you really had to be looking for them. Like the tire tracks in the sand and such.

Just read that the bonus disc of crysis has been uploaded. Game itself seems to be 2 dvd's, then one other for the bonus content.

Theyre running the full game there on an 8800gt and its blazing along. Not sure how far in just scan ahead a bit, and check out their amazing case.
That youtube vid he states its maxed options but only 1024x7768 res, which is a pretty small res these days.

I hope to god the full version is going to be a lot friendlier to pcs when its out soon...

WOW it actually worked!
Lowered the resolution down to 1024 and it ran beautifully. Everything except on High except post processing and shadows on medium. Tried with and without AA on 2x - no difference.
I'd tried all the tweaks and they all had differing outcomes but a simple lower of the rez has it looking gorgeous and playing great, woop!

Hmm When you look at that comparisson the game doesn't really look as impressive as what they showed it would look like.
