2nd Powell Quote -

Got this in my email today:
It's become almost routine for members of the American press to throw dumb
leading questions at members of the Bush administration. Maybe that's one
of the reasons why Secretary of State Colin Powell seemed so well prepared
for
the shifty question recently hurled at him by an Iraqi reporter.
According to the New York Post, one of Saddam's newshounds asked Powell,
"Isn't it true that only 13% of young Americans can locate Iraq on a map?"
"That may be true," Powell countered. "You're probably right. But
unfortunately for you, all 13% are Marines."
I sure do wish that man had run for president. He outclasses both of the choices we had last election.

Very powerful words, man. You do know that Iraq is going to share their oil with us because of this war, though. That's part of the reason we are there.

[quote="Sgt>Stackem":2bf34]I am worried that we (the US) will have a lagre loss of life. This battle is going to be the worst since Vietnam. That being said we will prevail! It may take more than an acre to bury the Iraqies though, how bout a couple square miles![/quote:2bf34]
You're wrong about that. The number of casualties will be nowhere near what they were in Vietnam. We only suffered a few casualties to the enemy, most were from accidents. We learned quite alot in the week of fighting and the coalition will adapt their fighting style to limit casualties. We really only suffered one bad day in the war thus far.

The funny thing is, the Defense Minister for Iraq says 'The coalition forces are not making progress' and 'They will be defeated.' But, in only ONE WEEK into the war, we are already on the verge of the damn capital. The first Gulf War was a breeze, and that took four months. Something tells me the Iraqi forces are weaker than ever......

The key word is SINCE the Vietnam War.
You wait for the assault on Baghdad.....It will challenge the amount of American dead in anything since Vietnam, easily.
How many American soldiers died in the first Gulf War?
.....17 died in Somalia....
What other confilcts since the vietnam war has had deaths of American soldiers?
