Nothing else interests me except HL2. Yes it has its own engine and that's the main reason I want it so badly.
COD will possibly offer a passtime if it comes out before HL2, but I doubt it.
Pacific Assault has an outside chance of being good simply due to the fact that EA have passed development onto a 3rd party but I will not even think of holding my breath for that.
Doom3? I'll probably buy it on budget by the time I can afford a PC to run it - No excitement there.
Movv... Vietnam has never interested me. Ever.
You see, even though I am sure the modding scene for HL2 will be unprecedented, and it will, I am looking forward to the single player aspect and the general online DM aspect far more.
Actually looking forward to a single player game... Me... That says something. Even GTA3 and GTA:VC only gave me 3-4 days enjoyment each before the "deep non-linear gameplay" wore thin.
A lot of games these days follow the tired old console format when it comes to single play. Valve have never bothered with that (Ok, so they've only released one game - But HL2 will not veer from that path).
HL2 is where it's at. Total immersion. You'd better believe it.
It's a pity most people here are only interested in WW2 games, because those that decide HL2 isn't worth it simply because it choses not to follow that worn path will miss out on an experience no game has produced before.
