And if you think Counter-Strike (free edition) wont get a facelift, you're insane.[/quote:9dfdd]

hope so, as of now Counterstrike attracts 95% of cheaters, spaming 12 year-olds, and other idiots.
I don't know how any of us would play any other MP games without Counterstrike.

Settle down, this is all opinion.

Who cares what conflict, or the sides, its a game and you make them even. New weapons would be cool, new settings, jeez, at least the pacific fight, but enough with gray, rainy/snowy europe with thunder in the background and shot up french cities.

I like the history of wwii as much as the next guy, but i like my games fresh and new.

agree there, but the problem is more of a physical one than just lack of designer imagination.

Look at BF-1942, nice open maps, but the graphics are lame by today's standards. Just about the only way to give a small map "natural" boundries is to put it in that same "box" section of city/village like Remagen or Stalingrad.

personally I prefer a WWII era "box" than a modern one, I am just about getting ready to explode if I walk into a room and CNN or Fox News is on, the last thing I need to see is more fucking Iraqis when I play games!!!

A Pacific theatre game would be a nice change of pace. Unscoped Springfields, Flamethrowers, and Marines. Not to mention green, yes, GREEN, jungle maps, as well as other assorted landforms - swamps, beaches, hills, etc. cool:

[quote="ED! Ban #127":f0714]Fuck can we get over WWI and WWII already?

Well, it doesn't surprise me that a WWII-based game fansite has a lot of people clamouring for great WWII mods.

I'd not start salivating already, though.

I just hope there are some original mods created, not just your generic types. I'm getting very bored of WWII. For a lot of people here it seems to be the only theme worth playing - seeing DOD proves that the majority of this particular community are attracted more by statistical weapon physics and historical accuracy than game-play and balance.

I'm not loyal to any genre of shooter. I like to think that widens my playing experience somewhat.

I'm looking forward to the SP of HL2 far more than the MP, oddly enough.

Getting exited about mods for a game that has yet to be released is taking things a little too far.

If you think CS is urban-conflict youre sadly mistaken. Again, CT and TERRORIST SKINS dont make an urban game.

same here, I tried it and thought it was TOO realistic, but I didn't see how you could hit anything with all that recoil.

This mod looks sweet, I just hope its not super realistic like DoD.
